Food Safety & Allergens
Baked By S.K is fully registered with the local council and holds a 5★ Food Hygiene Rating. All staff are trained in food safety and allergen awareness.
Please note: we do not operate an allergen-free kitchen. Our unit handles common allergens including gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts and tree nuts. While we take care, we cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contamination.
Enquiries & Response Times
Baked By S.K is a small, independently run business and enquiries are managed alongside daily baking, orders, walk-ins, Uber Eats and classes.
We aim to respond to emails and messages within 48–72 working hours. During busy periods, peak seasons or holidays, responses may take slightly longer.
To help us respond as efficiently as possible, please include:
- Date required
- Product or service (cakes, postals, classes, etc.)
- Size/quantity
- Any reference images
We kindly ask that messages are not resent within this timeframe, as this may delay responses further. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Ordering & Notice Periods
- Custom cakes: minimum 2–3 weeks’ notice, subject to availability
- Postal bakes: available to order via our website
- Walk-in items: available daily while stocks last
Availability is not guaranteed without payment.
Deposits & Payments
Custom orders require a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your booking. Orders are only confirmed once payment is received. Remaining balances must be paid before collection.
Collections (Unit-Based Orders)
Orders must be collected within the agreed time window.
- A 30-minute grace period applies
- After this, a £5 per hour holding fee may apply due to limited storage
- Orders not collected on the same day may be disposed of
Please notify us if you are running late.
Walk-In Purchases
Walk-in items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
We cannot reserve counter items without payment, and availability may change throughout the day.
Uber Eats Orders
Uber Eats orders are fulfilled via the Uber Eats platform.
- Delivery timing is managed by Uber
- Any issues (missing items, delays or refunds) must be reported directly through the Uber Eats app
- We are unable to process Uber Eats refunds outside of the platform
Drinks Policy
All drinks are made fresh to order. Once prepared, drinks cannot be refunded unless an error has been made by us.
Classes & Workshops
Class bookings are non-refundable.
- Tickets may be transferred to another person with prior notice
- Rescheduling is subject to availability
- Late arrivals may miss parts of the session without refund
Design Expectations (Custom Cakes)
All cakes are handmade and unique. While we take inspiration from reference images, exact replicas cannot be guaranteed. Colours may vary slightly due to lighting, ingredients and hand-mixing.
We do not copy another baker’s work exactly.
Refunds & Order Acceptance
Due to the bespoke nature of our products, refunds are not offered for custom orders once collected.
Please check spelling, design and order details at collection. Once accepted, the order is considered complete.
Issues & Corrections
If there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 60 minutes of collection, providing photos where applicable. Each case will be reviewed individually.
Transport & Storage
Once collected, responsibility for the product passes to the customer. We are not liable for damage caused by transport, heat, sunlight or improper storage. Care advice is provided where applicable.
